One Day Seminar on “Advent Season, Signs & Symbols” in Lahore

Lahore: December 10, 2013. (Pervez Yousaf) “Spiritual improvement of the faithful is my core objective” expressed by Rev. Fr. William Basharat OFM Cap the parish priest of St. Mary’s Church and chief organizer of the seminar while presenting introduction of the subject seminar a couple of days ago here in Lahore. He also introduced the resource person Rev. Fr. Amjad Yousaf to all the audience who were mainly the members of different working teams of the parish including catechists, parish council, Sunday school teachers, choir, Bible readers & youth group. He said that Fr.Amjad belongs to Youhanabad parish and a blessed preacher of the Word of God. He has good command over the subject of the seminar. He further said that today, by the grace of Almighty God we have got an opportunity to learn from him about the Advent Season, Signs and Symbols which would nourish our faith in God and His beloved Son Jesus Christ. Fr. Amjad started with the Advent Wreath and candles. He skillfully e explained the participants about the Purple and Pink colours of the Advent candles. He further talked about the other different signs and symbols of the Christmas including Christmas tree, bells, shepherds, angles, different cattle, star, the three kings of orient (the magi), Crib the birthplace of Jesus Christ, Santa Claus and so on. At the end Fr. William thanked Fr. Amjad Yousaf, all the participating teams and guests. A gift was also presented to Fr. Amjad by a senior parishioner and refreshments were served to all the participants. The seminar began with the prayer by Babu Emmanuel Shad while Babu Rafique was the stage secretary on this occasion.
