Karachi: March 11, 2014. (By Kalavanti Raja) In a result of voting of 305 members held in Beach Luxury Hotel on 09-03-2014, United Panel won; 05 members of executive body and 06 members of management committee elected for next two among 22 candidates of two panels. Winning Body is as Mr. Chela Ram Kewlani, President, Mr. Hot Chand Kirmani, Vice President, Dr. Deepak Kumar as General Secretary, Mr. Gopal Khemwani as Joint Secretary, Mr. Bharat Kumar as Finance secretary and 6 Management Committee Members were elected. One United Panel having Mr. Chela Ram is and Liberal Panel of Mr. Tekka Mal as President. United Panel is supported by Dr. Ramesh Vankani, MNA (PML N) and Liberals are from political workers/ writers. Moreover, majority of contesting candidates were richest businessmen and scheduled castes communities were completely excluded who represent 85% of Hindu population. Having no participation of women also showed a grip of feudal culture on Hindus society and no more educated modern society. Though show was only of limited business community but first times election and activism may be hoped for good change in future which is purely credited to Liberal Panel but shouting and not accepting results was total hatred and condemnable act committed by liberals on result announcement. Resultantly, Pakistan Hindu Council cannot be said as representative of Hindus of Pakistan until it extend their membership in schedule castes, women and in all provinces of Pakistan. However, we shall watch the role of newly elected body in future but immediately the relief work in Thar is emerged to show performance as victims are 90% Hindus.
