Brothers Karanveer Singh (Eagle Scout) and Sherveer Singh (Life Scout) are the first two recipients of this award from the Boy Scouts of America. Both Scouts will soon be awarded the 'Universal Religious Square Knot' by the Boy Scouts at the Troop Honor Ceremony to be held in the Fall of 2014.
Initiated in 2007, the WSC-AR has worked closely with the Boy Scouts of America to prepare and secure approval of two Sikh Religious Award workbooks, one for the middle school and the other for high school level. Scouts of any religious tradition (Sikhs and non-Sikhs) and gender can participate and work on these Religious Awards. Upon completion of the Sikh Religious Award, the Scout receives an emblem/medallion with a certificate provided by WSC-AR.
