Women of different religions appeal UN to protect Christians in Iraq and Muslim in Gaza

Lahore: August 27, 2014. (Pervez Yousaf) Council for Interfaith Dialogue Pakistan (CFID) organized an interfaith women’s prayer service for the deceased of Christians in Iraq and Muslims in Gaza. This prayer service was headed by the coordinator of the council Fr. Francis Nadeem. Sr. Mary Nilathi, Sr. Glorial Gill, Sr. Agnes, Sr. Saima, Sr. Sonia, chairperson of the women’s wing of CFID Shabnam Nagi (Advocate), and women representatives of different faiths belonging to different walks of life participated in a large number in this special prayer service. During this prayer service the participant’s illuminated candles in the memory of deceased Christians of Iraq and Muslims in Gaza. On this occasion participating women appealed to United Nations, head of both the countries, heads of other states and rival groups to take immediate steps to stop killings of innocent Christians in Iraq and Muslims in Gaza including children, women, youth and elderly people. They also offered prayers for the end of violence and killings of innocent Christians and Muslims in other countries and regions of the world and earth may not become redder with the blood of innocent human-beings.
