Islamabad: November 1, 2014. (PCP) Prominent Hindu lawmaker and Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has recorded protest in strong words during the recent session of National Assembly on the kidnapping of 13-year old Hindu girl from Sindh province. Dr. Ramesh, talking to journalists on Saturday, informed that a Hindu girl named Angeli was kidnapped on October 29 from Dherki and a gang of the kidnappers including a person named "Siyal" and local politician kept the under-age innocent girl at a "Madarsah" illegally and forcing her to change religion which is against the principles of interfaith harmony. Answering a question, he regretted that the state institutes were unable to provide the security and failing to protect the minorities is itself violation of Constitution of Pakistan. On the occasion, he also demanded strict action against the culprits. "Five thousand Hindu citizens, according to latest report prepared by Pakistan Hindu Council, are being forced to migrate to other countries every year", claimed Dr. Ramesh. Deputy Speaker of National Asembly Murtuza Javed Abbasi has referred the sensitive issue to Standing Committee on Law and Human Rights.
