Church of Pakistan Bishop demands Sharia law in Pakistan
LAHORE: January 20, 2015. (LEAD) National Peace Conference held on Monday, 19 January in which Bishop of Lahore Rt. Rev. Irfan Jamil stated that we should have to enforce Islamic Sharia for the establishment of peace in Pakistan. The statement is published in daily Urdu Jang News Paper.
On this statement of Bishop Of Lahore Rt. rev. Irfan Jamil, the agitation spread among Christians of Pakistan and it has created many apprehensions in the minds of Christian community.
The statement of Lahore Bishop has endorsed the demand of TTP and Extremists clerics who also stated to enforce the Islamic Sharia.
Last month, the supreme court of Pakistan gave its remarks in sue moto notice on the incident of the alive burning of Christian couple that for peace we have to follow the dictum "love your neighbor as we love ourselves ", but for The Bishop there is no reference from Gospel.
