As thousands of Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians gather in Los Angeles to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival, the World Evangelical Alliance congratulates the organizers of this historic event. "The Pentecostal movement in the last one hundred years has made a profound impact on the global Christian landscape." states Geoff Tunnicliffe, International Director of the World Evangelical Alliance. "We are deeply grateful for the passion for evangelism, the commitment to global mission and the desire for personal and corporate renewal the Pentecostal movement has brought to the global church." Tunnicliffe adds further, "as I survey our 127 national evangelical alliances across the world, many are either led or influenced by Pentecostal leaders. We are very appreciative of their commitment to build Christian unity and stand with other believers in developing a collaborative voice on important issues of faith and practice." The World Evangelical Alliance is committed to building a global network of Christians which includes Pentecostals and Charismatic Christians. "The challenges we face in the world today are so immense it is going to take all of us working together for the cause of Christ in seeing lives and nations transformed by his love and grace." Tunnicliffe concludes "As Pentecostalism enters its second century it is our prayer that it will continue to experience God's blessing and enhance the life and add to the rich diversity the Global Body of Christ."
