London: February 27, 2015. (PCP) World Sindhi Congress (WSC) is deeply saddened at the untimely death of Sindhi nationalist singer, Sadiq Fakeer. He died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia on the 26th of February 2015, travelling with his family. Sadiq Fakeer was not only an excellent vocal artist but was closely associated with the Sindhi people’s rights movement. He sang numerous songs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhatai, Shaikh Ayaz, and other poets, reflecting the national sentiments and aspirations of Sindhi people. The national songs in his melodic voice were always a source of inspiration and entertainment for Sindhi people, which will now be hugely missed after his departure. WSC offers its heart-felt condolences to his family members and friends and prays for the departed soul to remain in eternal peace. We will remember his message of Sindhi nationalism by continuing to enjoy his music after death.
