Karachi, Pakistan: A seemingly ordinary encounter at a beauty salon in Karachi has ignited a wider debate about Christianophobia, religious hatred
KARACHI: June 4, 2015. (PCP) The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has started initiating disciplinary action against those members who are maligning the profession, indulging in anti-union activities and weakening the struggle of the journalists.
In a statement, PFUJ President Rana Mohammad Azeem, Secretary General Mohammad Amin Yousuf, said that the FEC had approved the final action against two members for their involvement in anti-union activities, and posing themselves as elected members of the PFUJ.
Despite the fact that they lost the election, they are claiming themselves to be the representatives of journalists and office-bearers of PFUJ.
The PFUJ had given them a last opportunity to refrain from defaming the PFUJ. The show-cause notices given to them last month remained un-replied. So the Federal Executive Council decided to suspend the membership of Mr Khusheed Abbasi belonging to Karachi Union of Journalists and Mr Afzal But of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ).
