Hindu minority leaders demand evacuation of their properties and places of worship

HYDERABAD: January 8, 2016. (By Abbas Kassar) Hindu minority leaders of Sindh,Pakistan have expressed grave concern on the discriminatory treatment they are meted out in Pakistan and their Mandirs( places of worship) and properties have been occupied on gun point. Addressing news conference at Hyderabad press clun the leaders Dr. Lekhraj Leelani chairman of Pakistan Peace Council For Interfaith Harmony. Mukhi Bhagar Karamchand of Henglaj Sheva Mandli, Dr. Amrashi Thakur of Kali Mata Sheva Mandl,i Dilip Kumar Jethani, Waljee Thakur and Nawab Soomro told newsmen that they have come to complain that the Mandirs, homes and lands, graveyards and other properties of Hindus had been occupied. They said that journalists were witness that they had observed hunger strike against occupation of Kali Mata Mandir in Hyderabad for 162 days but no action was taken for evacuation of Mandir. They said flat No.36 in Galaxy Skyland apartment of Mai Harish kumar has been occupied by land mafia headed by Naeem Mughal, Saleem Akhtar Baloch with their armed men. They said that their representatives dare not move to help them. They said they were patriot Pakistanis. They told that apart from Kali Mata Mandir, Durga Sheva Mandir near circuit house Hyderabad, Matha Luxmy Mandir at Hatri near Hyderabad, Ram Mandir Hyderabad, Tando Yousuf graveyard, Mauripur Mandir Karachi, Anil Parkash’s land in Sangar and other properties. They made appeal to chief justice Pakistan and other authorities to provide protection to them and their properties including places of worship and to help recover their properties from land mafia.
