Lahore: March 23, 2016. (Pervez Yousaf) Muslim Christian children took out a peace march holding peace flag and placards inscribed with messages of peace and national harmony. The peace march of the ambassadors of peace was organized by the Council for Interfaith Dialogue, Pakistan (CFID) under the auspices of Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, the coordinator and founder of the council.
On this occasion Muslim and Christian children offered prayers for the promotion of interfaith harmony, restoration of peace and progress of the country. They also prayed for the success of armed forces to curb the prevailing wave of terrorism and bloodshed in the country and paid homage for their deliberate efforts. Children released pigeons and balloons in the air as the symbols of peace and brotherhood. During the peace March children were also chanting slogans “we want peace”, “no to hatred and yes to peace”.
On this occasion Fr. Francis Nadeem advised children to foster peace and harmony not only within their families but also in their neighborhoods so that peace may prevail in our society. At the end of Peace March all the children recited peace prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.
