Minorities for 5% Quota in jobs, ending black laws and occupation of their graveyard

HYDERABAD: August 12, 2016. (Abbas Kassar) Pakistan Peoples Party minorities’ wing organized a national minority day at press club here which was attended by a large number of members from minority communities and civil society. The program was addressed by Poonjomal Parmar, Riaz Naghar, Ramesh Chanwria, Khamoon Lal, Pervez Rajput, Jamshed Khokhar, councilor Faqira Masih, councilor Nazir Masih Gill, Kashif Bashir, Phool Khokhar,Maqsood Ghori,Gharibdad and Samueal Ghori. The speakers said Quaid Azam had in his speech on 11 August 1947 had said everyone was Pakistan and there will be discrimination on basis of religion. He had said from today all were Pakistanis. They deplored that minorities in Pakistan were not safe and were under duress. Though they are patriot Pakistanis yet they were being subjected to violence on basis of religion. They were being neglected in govt jobs. They demanded their youth be given 5% quota in jobs and also on merit basis. They demanded that their graveyards were occupied by land grabbers and demanded to end occupation and help them recover their graveyards. They demanded they should be given right to elect their representatives directly, their areas be given development budget and to repeal black laws against them including blasphemy law.
