PESHAWAR: Fear and uncertainty continue to spread among Pakistan’s Christian minority following the tragic death of an 18-year-old Chris
Faisalabad: August 13, 2016. (PCP) A powerful voice for Pakistani Christians human rights and campaigner for elimination of extremism from Textbooks Professor Anjum James Paul who is prominent scholar and Chairman of Pakistan Minority Teachers Association PMTA has expressed grave concerns of statement of Mr. Kamran Michael, Federal Minister for Human Rights in one event marking National Minority Day in capital city of Pakistan.
In a social media posting, Professor James Paul commented “Mr. Kamran Michael, You have said half-truth in your statement on August 11, 2016 in Islamabad because only elite class non-Muslims have somehow protection but what about 99.9 %?”
Kamran Michael was selected by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML (N) as member of Punjab Assembly when Christian not voted for Him.
PML (N) is also ruling Punjab province of Pakistan where Christian are facing continuous violence, Christian women are abducted and forcibly converted to Islam for marriage to Muslims, cases of blasphemy against Christians are at peak comparing to other parties rule in this province and Christian youth are facing unemployment;
“It is easy to pass such statements when families of elite class reside in USA, Canada and Europe and they say non-Muslims have protection. There are many activists of NGOs' who have become billionaires but the fate of non-Muslims has not been changed. Religious leaders are emptying the pockets of marginalized people in the name of healing. Is it the fate of only marginalized Christians that evil spirits reside only in them and not in those who are rich?” said Professor Paul
Professor Anjum Paul said that such politicians, human rights activists and religious servants whose life style are changed now but the marginalized Pakistani non-Muslims are still waiting for change.
