Lahore: October 8, 2016. (PCP) Pakistan Christian Congress Punjab Council President Mr. Daud Sharif Sahotra have paid homage to Pakistan Peoples Party PPP Member National Assembly Shazia Marri on raising voice in Joint Session of Parliament for justice to Nabeel Masih who is behind bar on accusations of blasphemy. PCC Punjab Chief Mr. Daud Sahotra appealed to leaders of Muslim parties in parliament to raise voice for minorities’ rights when Christian members in house are silent for vested interests. Meanwhile, October 8, 2016, was the court hearing for Nabeel Masih’s blasphemy case. The courts were closed on call of strike by Punjab Bar Council Defense Attorney Aneeqa Maria appeared in court case of Nabeel Masih. As the Voice team along father and brother of Nabeel Masih reached the Court premises in Pattoki, they felt that situation was not safe like previous date of hearing. There were about 80 people of different age groups including students were present in the premises only for Nabeel’s hearing and each of them was continuously calling on phone the other people to come. They were appearing very livid filled with hatred and revenge for the family, even the Voice team was not safe from their rage. They directly threatened the Voice team about the consequences and tried to create an atmosphere of dispute and argue. Even the Voice Lawyers Adv. Aneeqa and Adv. Tahir Gull were directly threatened by the Complainant’s Lawyer Adv. Amin Muzammal Chauhdry and his Panel Lawyers in the presence of the Honorable Judge Mr. Muhammad Imran. The prosecution Lawyer said," Do you have any idea in what cases are you appearing as a Council,, it’s a blasphemy case and this man has blasphemed against Islam and you should know that Pakistan is an Islamic state, we are all Muslims, and these are Muslim Courts so you should not defend such a criminal. You people come from Lahore to pursue this case here we have Unlimited people whom you cannot face, so you better watch yourself and stay away”. Later outside the court the complainants “told” that Nabeel has committed a heinous offence and he is liable to be killed, we will kill him and will also burn all the infidels of his family. The Voice team got a chance to send the family of Nabeel out of court premises safely while the Radicals were gathering up for a historical action against the infidels. The Voice team stood in the court for some more time to ensure them about our presence and not think about the family for a while. Aneeqa Maria Advocate said “The situation is getting more and more tense in this case and we do not have any security to handle the situation, we also keep in mind that The Governor Salman Taseer was assassinated in a blasphemy case by his own security, we pray that May this case not take lives as it’s been a practice now” “As it is Nabeel’s basic right to seek Bail or present his case before the honorable court. Even the terrorists have right in Pakistan to seek the concession from Law by presenting their case in the courts and proving the allegations wrong or what so ever, than why not Nabeel Masih who is just 15-16 years old boy have the right to seek this concession even at this stage when the crime or allegation against him is not proved yet” told Voice Team to media
