Dr Ramesh Kumar receives National Human Rights Award from President of Pakistan

Islamabad: December 10, 2016. (PCP) President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain awarded National Human Rights 2016 to the Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and Member National Assembly Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani as a recognition of his struggle services to protect the human rights. According to the details, Ministry of Human Rights, in connection with the World Human Rights Day, has organized a ceremony on Saturday to acknowledge the services of prominent human right activists belonging to different walks of life. President Mamnoon Hussain was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Latter, talking to the media, Dr. Ramesh Vankwani lauded the contribution of Ministry of Human Rights. He said that every year on 10 December World Human Rights Day commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He said that the day reminds us that as human-being we have civil, social, religious and political rights which are essential for any civilized society. "Protection of human rights is a key factor for the formation of peaceful society," he said, adding that all those societies where social injustice and inequalities prevailed soon get vanished from existence. Dr Ramesh Kumar said that Constitution of Pakistan itself protects the minority rights and allows them to live their life with full religious and social freedom. "Religion Islam also emphasizes on the establishment of a society based on brotherhood and equality," he said while mentioning the last Hajj sermon of Prophet of Islam (PBUH). Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani said that Pakistan Hindu Council has always raised voice for the oppressed community of the society and will continue this practice in future as well.
