PCC demands adequate security for family of Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra

Karachi: January 13, 2017. (PCP) Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have appealed Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of life threat to family members of Christian leader Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra who is arrested and in jail but some criminals are demanding huge amount of extortion money from his family and not paying threatening to kill them. Detained leader Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra who heads Masiha Millat Party and Human Liberation Commission was arrested in 2015 when Talban suicide bombers attacked two churches in Youhanabad in Lahore and killed Christian worshipers. Mr. Aslam Sahotra is waiting for his bail plea from Lahore High Court which have released on bail many Christians arrested after protests on twin suicide bombing but not Mr. Sahotra yet. Mr. Aftab Gill who is also leader of Human Liberation Commission is helping family of Mr. Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra but on December 23, 2016, he received a call in which he was threatened to stop helping family of Aslam Sahotra. Mr. Aftab Gill reported threat call to relevant police station but no action was taken by police for security of family of Mr. Sahotra. On December 30, 2016, Mr. Aftab Gill again received threatening call in which culprits demanded millions of rupees within a week time unless threated to kill family members of Mr. Aslam Sahotra. Mr. Aftab Gill have submitted written request with DPO Police Lahore but no action have been taken till filing of this story. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress has appealed Chief Minister Punjab to order adequate security of family of Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra and action against culprits who are demanding extortion money.
