Hyderabad: March 13, 2017. (By Abbas Kassar) Popular Hindu festival Holi was celebrated all around globe with religious zeal and enthusiasm. The day was also celebrated across Pakistan including almost all cities and towns of Sindh. Festival of colours falls on full moon on 12 March 2017. It marks victory of good things on evil. It is also beginning of spring season. On this auspicious day processions of Hindu community were taken out as also through SMS, Facebook and Whatsap messages. People of Hindu community splashed colours on each other singing hymns and praying for prosperity of Pakistan. Big gathering was held at Grupat temple at Sreghat. Puja Path was followed by extravaganza of colours. Small fireworks followed painting each other with colours.
Members of the Hindu Panchayet Association Advocate Parkash, Advocate Jagdesh, former MPA Eashwar Lal, Dr. Sri Chand, Shankar Lal and others told that prayers for prosperity of Pakistan would be offered in all temples on Holi.
They said that our Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had provided the maximum facilities possible to all minorities and planned to restore almost all religious sites of the minorities in the country.Several social and political personalities also attended the day amid tight security .
HOLI AMID TEARS IN TANDO MUHAMMAD KHAN: Our correspondent Faiz Solangi adds that families of 60 victims of poisonous liquor who died on Holi day last year in Tando Muhammad Khan celebrated rather observed Holi with tears for their loved ones by consuming toxic liquor made of sugar mills waste. The families were still awaiting justice. Only 2 days before incident A.D.Khwaja had taken over as IG Sindh and had promised to bring the culprits to justice but so far no one has been punished except few police and excise officers from one place to other. The main culprit owner of spurious liquor plant still continues his ugly business. T.M.Khan city has turned as market of all contraband narcotics including poisonous wine, Chars, opium, Manpuri, Ghutka and what not?
