(Sunil John) “The olive tree has been the symbol of peace, wisdom, glory, fertility, power and purity in Islamic and Christian history, the olive tree itself, as well as olive oil and olives, play an important role in the Bible as well as olive tree and olive oil are mentioned seven times in the Holy Quran and the olive is praised as a precious fruit”. His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw continued his sentiments while visiting an Islamic seminary along with delegation of National Commission for Inter-religious Dialogue and Ecumenism. He stressed that the main objectives of the plantation and cultivation of Olive Tree symbolizes Purity and Serenity in a house or institution. The delegation of NCIDE was warmly welcomed at a Mosque, the Peace olive tress were planted in the courtyard of the Mosque. Hence this campaign of planting tress in different Islamic seminaries continues.
