Karachi: May 15, 2017. (PCP) Special Prayer Services were organized in different parts of the country for Minority Lawyer and Human Rights Activists Ms. Jacqueline Sultan who received death threat for defending people charged with blasphemy and helping victims of forced conversions and marriages.
The Special Services were attended by a huge number of Christians who recited their prayers for the Ms. Jacqueline.
Roman Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad Rev. Fr. Sansom Shukardin O. F. M. St. Francis Xavier Cathedral said that the Federal and Provincial Government should not rest until they do not eliminate the terrorists. He said that terrorists neither had any religion nor deserved any concession. He appreciated the untiring efforts and struggle of
Ms. Jacqueline Sultan for voicing for the rights of minorities particularly on the very sensitive issues like blasphemy law, forced conversions, forced marriages, and other discriminatory laws.
After prayer service Pastor Shahid Saghar of Awami Church Essa Nagri Karachi said Ms. Jacqueline Sultan is a great woman who has been working for the minority community and helping them in and outside the court with her legal work and human rights activities.
Pastor Rafaqat Sadiq of Presbyterian Church condemns the extremists act and said that the minority community is not safe in Pakistan.
Bishop Iftikhar from Faisalabad shown his concern over the incident and beseech the Government of Sindh to take personal interest in the matters of religious minorities so as to protect their lives, properties, dignity in the interest of justice and he requested to provide adequate security to Ms. Jacqueline Sultan.
Rehmat Masih from Gujranwala said that we would not like to lose Ms. Jacqueline Sultan like we have already lost our many Christians brothers and sisters because of extremisms.
