Lahore: June 21, 2017. (PCP) Katherine Sapna Director CTS got informed that Shaukat Masih and his son Haroon Shaukat beaten up severely by the brick kiln owner at Bhattah no. 312 Haji Waseem Basti Eassa Nagar Rao Khan Wala where they work for last 4 years. As CTS dealt with a recently reported a rape case of a Christian minor Mehwish Shoukat on June 08, 2017 and through CTS assistance the accused Mohammad Aslam got arrested under the case FIR no. 243/17 offense under section 376 & 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code. On June 14, 2016 the accused has been sent to the prison (District Jail Kasur) on judicial remand and be produced before the court on June 28, 2017. The concerned police also directed to submit complete or incomplete police report U/S 173 Cr.P.C. With the reference of the case and arrest of Mohammad Aslam, on June 28, 2017 the brick Kiln owner along with four other including Mohammad Ghafoor (Munshi/Treasurer) Imram Bhatti, Doger Bhatti and Babar Qaiser started pressurizing and harassing the complainant of the rape case FIR Shaukat Masih (Mehwish’s father) and his elder son Haroon Shaukat and demanded to sign a compromise paper. Unfortunately, Shaukat Masih is under the arrears of two hundred thousand rupees (200,000 PKR) which he took as loan from the Kiln owner about 4 years back. For that reason Shaukat Masih is already getting half of his wages after loan deduction sine 4 years but the amount of the loan is still same till the day. The brick Kiln owner favoring the rapist (Mohammad Aslam) in rape case and pressurizing Saukat Masih for compromise. Shaukat Masih is not willing to withdraw the case even after the sever threats and pressure. In this regard, the brick kiln owner asked another Christian laborer Ramaish Masih (who also work on the same kiln factory and he is also slave / bounded laborer) to make allegations against Haroon Masih 18-year-old (son of Shaukat Masih) of raping his 3 year-old minor on June 28, 2017. Meanwhile Brick Kiln owner asked Mohammad Ghafoor (Munshi/Treasurer) Imram Bhatti, Doger Bhatti and Babar Qaiser to beat Haroon Masih and Shaukat Masih severely for raping the little girl. They both were severely tortured, therefore Shaukat ‘s wife Nasreen Bibi gave a call to CTS and informed about happening. Katherine Sapna Director CTS immediately requested Tanveer Ahmad T/ASI in the Police Chauki Arora substation of Raja Jhang Police Station. On CTS call concerned police rushed towards the occurrence place but the brick Kiln owner warned the family and threatened for severe consequences if they reported the matter to the police. Being scared for the life of his son Shaukat Masih did inform nothing to the police about the happening and therefore police returned without any involvement. The other side Shaukat Masih was continually asking help from CTS office in Lahore through phone call. Tanveer Ahmad (T/ASI) informed CTS through a telephonic conversation that he cannot file a complaint unless the victim approached the police station. Whereas the brick kiln owner ordered Shaukat Masih that he is not allowed to move anywhere otherwise they will kill his son. It is worth mentioned that Mohamamd Ghafoor and three others took Haroon Saukat to unknown place to pressurize Shaukat Masih to do compromise in the rape case. Further Mohammad Ghafoor beat severely Haroon and forced him to admit the rape of 3 years old otherwise they will kill him. At last Haroon Shaukat has to confess the offense and he was taken to the police station for arrest. A case FIR of rape has been registered against Haroon Shaukat on June 20, 2017 on complains of Ramaish Masih and his wife for raping his 3-year-old daughter. CTS team visited the police station the same evening and tried to convince Mohammad Kafayat Hussain the Station House Officer (SHO) of Raja Jhang Police Station but he was not willing to accept the version. Because! Although Brick kiln owner in involved in arrest of Haroon Shaukat in a rape case but the complaint is filed by another Christian man not by the accused party of Shaukat Masih. The SHO said that Haroon Shaukat will face the whole legal process same as Mohammad Aslam facing as is it need to give relief and provide justice to all victims like Mehwish Shaukat. It seems that police is behind the whole story at one side they are ready to provide justice to the vulnerable but the other side they playing different role, police has double face. Presently it is a tough situation for Shaukat Masih and his family; the things are not as easy as they look like. CTS request to all friends to do pray for Shaukat Masih and his family. May God keep this family in his own protection and may the all worries be wiped with His grace.
