New Delhi, February 19, 2007. Chhatisgarh state ruled by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has one more Christian victim. Pastor Kanya Sharma's wife was severely beaten up by Mr. Jogi Sahu – a leader of Dharma Sena (Hindu Militant) early this morning. She is hospitalized in Medical College, Raipur. Sources reaching to All India Christian Council have different versions of the incident. Mr. Viswas Chandrakar – Station House Office of Urla Police station told Christian Council that Mr. Sahu had quarrelling with Pastor's wife and he denied that incident was not base on religious discrimination. Arun Panalal – General Secretary of Chhatisgarh Christian Forum reported to Christian Council that Police has fabricated the story to deny justice to Christian minorities. He said that it was pure Christian attacks from Hindutva forces. Mr. Sharma was beaten up one and half years ago for professing Christian faith by Dharma Sena and also abused on December 31, 2007 by Mr. Sahu, says Mr. Panalal. The victim was taken to local dispensary and shifted to Medical College, Raipur latter. Sources reaching to Christian Council, she suffers internal and external injuries and remains in critical condition. While talking to All India Christian Council, Mr. Viswas refused any external injuries to the victim and said that both the groups are intimated to compromise on good sense. Chhatisgarh has experienced Christian attack in organized manners from Hindu fanatics in recent times, where reports were refused to be filed in local police stations. Christians less than 2% of the state's population live in fear and trembling of attack and harassment from Hindutva forces. All India Christian Council condemns the discrimination on Christians in the state of Chhatisgarh. Mr. Jogi Sahu must be punished by attacking Pastor Sharma's wife as per as the law.
