Lahore: November 14, 2017. (Sunil John) A Peace Marathon was organized by the National Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops Conference Pakistan) in association with different schools and Islamic Seminaries of Lahore The purpose of this peace marathon was to teach the children to run for peace as much as they could to give the message of peace to the people as they pass by. The children spread the message of peace and became a message by themselves. They expressed their desire for a Peaceful society though this practical effort. On this occasion Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap (Executive Secretary NCIDE) while talking to the children said that “you are the Ambassadors of Peace and you can bring the message of peace to others who are spreading hatred among the followers of different religions”. Fr. Francis Nadeem advised children to foster peace and harmony not only within their families but also in their neighborhoods so that peace may prevail in our society. He advised children to be a role model for the elders who do not realize the importance of love and peace and are harboring the feelings of hatred and discrimination in the society.
