MIT marks International Women Day in Karachi

Pakistan: March 10, 2018. (PCP) On International Women’s Day Ms. Erum Riasat, Rania Riaz, Margret, Hajra Yaqoob, Bushra and other women joined a peace protest at Karachi Press Club on 8th March 2018 organized by Minorities Inqilabi Tehreek Pakistan against the discrimination of women in Pakistan. Ms. Allomia ul Raj said that minority women not only have to deal with the attacks on Christian faith, they also have to deal with the frequent dirty looks and harassment. She said, I want them to know they are so precious, valuable and created uniquely by God. Former Member Parliament Sindh and Founder member of Minorities Inqbali Tehreek Pakistan delivered telephonic address and said that the majority community of Pakistan discriminate the rights of minorities and there are numerous cases of forced conversion and marriages. He added that a democratic state gives equal status and rights to all its citizen but Members of Assembly are under pressure of extremists and religious parties. He said whenever PML N government came into power the minority community always suffer as you can see the recent incident of Sajjad Masjid and Patras Masih as well Sahiwal Church Attack where numerous men, women and children got injured but the Government of Punjab didn’t pay heed on these issues relating to the minority community. Ms. Erum Riasat, Margret Hajra Yaqoob and other women also addressed.
