Supreme Court of Pakistan dismisses review petition against Asia Bibi acquittal

Islamabad: January 29, 2019. (PCP) The review petition against the acquittal of Asia Bibi has been dismissed on merit by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on January 29, 2019.

There is nothing new in the petition which was filed by Qari-Ul-Islam (the petitioner) in the supreme court of Pakistan today. Gullam Mustifa Chaudry an opponent lawyer did not find any different think to produce or convince the court in different way which can prove that the previous decision of Supreme Court to acquit Asia Bibi from the blasphemy accusations is wrong.

This review petition was filed on 2 grounds only.

There should be a judge in the bench who deal with the sharia court cases.

The confession statement of Asia Bibi which was recorded in pressure of Mullahs and the mob who was beating her at the spot.

Which was totally unacceptable by the court and the opponent lawyer was requested by the court guide the court according to the law if they passed wrong verdict in the said case. The complainant lawyer took time of two and half hours but could not convince the court.

The bench of Supreme Court Judges was the same who have already reviewed the case 3 months ago and therefore Asia Bibi was acquitted from the charges except one who replaced Justice Nisar Saqib.

We thank God today we saw no tension by the Islamic Organizations in the Supreme court today as their main leaders are already in the Judicial custody because of their reaction to the release of Asia bibi therefore today we notice that there is not a that kind of reaction of Islamic organizations and extremists but we noticed a few groups protesting in Islamabad and Lahore against the release of Asia Bibi. CTS really hope that the country will stay calm, also the coming weeks.

CTS is grateful all those in prayers for Asia Bibi's confirmed release and also praying for the peace in Pakistan. Thanks God the Justice and rightness has been done and she is free indeed. Bless you all supporting her and CTS hope that she along with her family will find a safe country to start a new life together.
