Lahore: March 5, 2019. (Haroon Gill) A Christian delegation led by Fr. Francis Executive secretary National Commission for Interfaith Dialogue NCIDE and Fr. Benedict Ayodi OFM Cap Secertary Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Rome, Italy along with Fr. Shahzad Khokher OFM Cap, Fr. Lazar Aslam OMF Cap, Fr. Sunil Irfan OFM Cap and Fr. John Joseph OFM Cap visited Minhaj University Lahore.
The Christian delegation was warmly welcomed by the vice Chancellor Dr. Aslam Ghouri along with other university faculty members. After the visiting the university, there was a round table meeting with the university professors. Dr. khuram shahzad, director academic while welcoming the Christian delegation, gave a short introduction of the university. He described that university has special subject on religions. We are preparing the students for interfaith dialogue and the promotion of religious harmony. The vice chancellor Dr. Aslam Ghouri presented a memorable shield to Fr. Benedict.
Fr. Benedict was pleased to see that this university has special subject on different religions and they have been preparing students as peace promoters. He hoped that university would work more closely with National Commission for Interfaith Dialogue and Ecumenism for the promotion of interfaith peace and harmony.
Fr. Francs Nadeem expressing his views appreciated the peace work and initiatives of respected Dr. Tahir ul Qadri and his team. He assured that National Commission for Interfaith Dialogue and Ecumenism would continue to support the peace initiative of Minhaj University.
Dr. Herman Robourgh, Head of Religions and Philosophy, Dr. Ahmad Registrar, Prof. Naseer John and Mr. Sohail Ahmad Raza director Interfaith Relations Minhaj ul Quran International were also present on the occasion. As a symbol of peace and prosperity an Olive tree was planted in the university campus.
