Hyderabad: October 1, 2019. (Rubina David) In September, 2019 International day of PEACE was celebrated by National Commission for Justice and Peace, Hyderabad office under the leadership of Fr. Shahrukh Nathaniel OFM (Director NCJP Hyderabad).
A series of celebration were arranged by St. Elizabeth Parish in areas: Latifabad unit: 05, unit: 06, unit: 10, Immaculate Conception Parish, Kotri, Sikandarabad, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Francisabad Khipro, St. Mary’s Presentation High School Mariamabad, TandoAllahyar Parish and Caritas Pakistan Hyderabad.
NCJP activists briefed introduction of NCJP and history of PEACE day. They talked about current social issues, violence, tolerance, injustice, laws etc. They also shared information of different techniques to create PEACE. They said that we should play a vital role for promotion of peace as a Human right activist and get involve from education, social justice, health to the environment, social issues to service for others, there are many ways to encourage Peace! Spread Peace in your families and then your community.
Rev. Fr. Shahrukh Nathaniel OFM (Director NCJP Hyderabad) offered Holy masses for Peace and Harmony during the programs. It was very effective section. Through Holy masses participants analyzed the blessings of God in their lives and they realized how they can perform better role for their society, city and country as well.
In group activities participants took out a Peace rally to express solidarity with Kashmiris, presented tableau on PEACE song, painted and pasted hands for PEACE promotion, lit candles and offered prayers for PEACE.
