NCID and CBSP organize Dengue Awareness Walk

Lahore: October 9, 2019. (PCP) Dengue has been on its rise from the last few weeks in the city of Lahore where many people have been affected from the Dengue virus. A Dengue Awareness Walk was organized by National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue and Ecumenism (Catholic Bishiops’ Conference Pakistan) where St. Mary’s High School Gulberg, Lahore, St. Lawrence’s High School, Lahore and Jamia Bait-ul-Quran Gulberg, Lahore participated. The purpose of this walk was to create awareness among the students and the people of the area against Dengue and to keep the environment clean. A good number of students from other schools and madras also participated in this walk.

The participants were carrying placards with the message of protecting the environment from Dengue virus, demonstrated their spirit to eradicate Dengue. It was also a demonstration of harmony and unity of the students of schools and madrasa for a noble cause for the betterment of the society.

Rev. Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, the Executive Secretary NCIDE appreciated the spirit of the students on this occasion. He encouraged them to be united for a common good. He expressed his determination to support the government’s efforts against Dengue Prevention Campaign. Fr. Francis Nadeem expressed his gratitude to all the students of schools, madrasa and the organizers of this awareness walk.

At this occasion, Maulana Muhammad Asim Makhdoom, the chairman of Kul Maslik Ulma Borad appreciated this awareness walk. He stressed that in the future we shall continue to work together and will continue to support the Government of Pakistan against Dengue. Maulana Mufti Ashiq Hussain, the director of Jamia Bait-ul-Quran Gulberg, Lahore especially prayed for all the victims of Dengue virus. He also prayed for all those people who have been working hard for the eradication of dengue. Shakeel Francis Dogra and Haroon Gill also expressed their cooperation for the eradication of Dengue. This Dengue Awareness Walk started from St. Mary’s High School Gulberg and passed through the surrounding areas of Gulberg and later ended at St. Lawrence’s High School, Lahore.
