Interfaith delegation visited Sikh shrine in Nankana Sahib

Nankana Sahib: November 27, 2019. (PCP) An interfaith delegation of National Commission for Inter-religious Dialogue and Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops’ Conference Pakistan) under the leadership of Chairman NCIDE His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Shaw and Executive Secretary NCIDE Rev. Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap visited a famous temple of Sikhs at Nankana Sahib where people of Sikh community came from different parts of Pakistan and the world for the celebration of the 550th birth of Guru Nanak. Nankana Sahib is the birth place of Guru Nanak. The Sikh religious leadership of the Nankana Sahib temple warmly welcomed interfaith delegate. The delegation was welcomed by Bashir Mashi Bhatti, Kirpa Singh, Surjeet Singh Kanwal, Kuljeet Singh and Mahinder Pal Singh. His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Shaw expressed his best wishes on the 550th birthday celebration of Guru Nanak and gave the message of tolerance, brotherhood, acceptance, peace and harmony.

The Sikh religious leaders of Nankana Sahib Community expressed their gratitude to the Archbishop and the interfaith delegate and appreciated their goodwill. He stated that every county should have institute like national commission in order to promote religious peace and harmony.

His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Shaw and the members of the delegation cut the 550th birthday cake of Guru Nanak along with the Sikh community and with Mr. Ahmed Kamal Addition Deputy Commissioner of Nankana at the district city hall. . Prayer for peace between Pakistan and India was also offered so that people of subcontinent may live in peace and harmony.

His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Shaw, Fr. Francie Nadeem OFM Cap, Fr. Baber Shahzad OFM Cap,  Fr. Fasial Francis OFM Cap, Maulana  Tanvir Muhammadi, Mufti Ashiq Hussain, Dr. Badar Munir, Syed Kashif Gilani, Asif Illyas Gill,  Allama Asghar Arif Chishti ,Raja Asgher Sardar Khokhar, Razaq Rahmet, Pir S.A Jafari, Asher Javiad, Samson Paul  and Salman were included in the delegation.
