Journalists Protest against murder of Mehrabpur reporter Aziz Memon

HYDERABAD: (By Abbas Kassar) Journalists across Sindh including Hyderabad took out to hold protest demonstrations against murder of Aziz Memon journalist of Mehrabpur (reporter of daily Kawish and KTN channel). Protesting journalists chanted slogans against his cold-blooded murder and demanded from chief justice Pakistan to take notice of his murder.

In Hyderabad protest was held on call of Hyderabad Union of Journalists which was joined by other organizations of journalists. PFUJ leaders Khalid Khokhar, Hamid Shaikh, HUJ leaders Iqbal Mallah , Hamidur Rehman while addressing demonstration said murder of journalist Aziz Memon was open terrorism. They said it appears that Sindh has been turned as slaughter house for journalists and murder of Aziz Memon was in chain to suppress voice of journalists. They told that his video statement in which he was telling about life threats to him. Despite this he was not provided protection. They demanded his video statement be made part of investigation. They demanded from chief justice Pakistan to take notice of murder of journalist Aziz Memon.

Apart from it a meeting of journalist was held in press club which was chaired by press club president Lala Rehman Samon. The meeting expressed concern on delay of investigation by police on basis of jurisdiction between 2 districts Khairpur and Noshero Feroz. Meeting demanded to form JIT for investigation of murder of Aziz Memon.

Meeting decided to formulate next strategy on occasion of Sioyem of journalist Aziz Memon which is due Tuesday. Meeting made appeal to journalists all over Sindh to hold protest all over province on this day against murder of Mehrabpr journalist Aziz Memon.
