Acquittal of Blasphemy Victim in Faisalabad

Pakistan: We cheerily inform the acquittal and release of blasphemy victim Younis Maish alias Baghat aged 72, resident of Faisalabad. Younis Masih falsely accused of blasphemy has been discharged within a week with a strong effort and continue struggle of CTS team for the fair investigation by Mr. Abid Zafar SP Jaranwala (Superintendent of Police).

From the day one when the case FIR 276/24 was registered on Feb 10, 2024 offence under section 295-B in the police station Khurianwala District Faisalabad, CTS legal team of 6 advocates headed by the Executive Director Katherine Sapna approached the authorities in Faisalabad and investigation officer SP Abid Zafar, urged for the fair investigation of blasphemy occurrence before the man is booked under the fake allegation of blasphemy and send to the jail to face a lengthy case trial.

We are grateful for the cooperation of SP to investigate the matter fairly before booking the man in the charge and sending him to prison. It took only one week investigation the man founded innocent and the police set him free from the fake charges of 295-B. Meanwhile CTS supported the victim’s family morally and financially and provided them safe boarding.

I am glad to share that the case has been successfully handled in a week and Younis Masih has been released from the severe charges. CTS has provided him shelter and safety along with his family whereas the other Christian families has been settled in their homes to maintain the confidence and trust of local Muslims on the Christian residents who can never commit blasphemy.

I am grateful for your immediate prayers for the earliest release of Younis Masih.
