Women leadership to lead struggle for Peaceful Pakistan; a pledge at Rwadari Iftar Get-together

Lahore: Led by the women leadership of Rwadari Tehreek Pakistan, the Annual Interfaith Iftar (breaking of the fast) on 20th March 2024 at the premises of National Council of Church LAHORE to share the blessings of Lent Season and Ramadan. The Interfaith Iftar was attended by scores of men and women from different faiths, religions and walks of life to express togetherness and unity against the culture of hatred, intolerance and extremism prevailing in the society.  

Women Leadership of Rwadari Tehreek led by Human Rights Champions Comrade Saeeda Diep, Asmarah Daud and Umme-e-Kalsoom Sial presided over the Interfaith Event and was addressed by Chairman Rwadari Tehreek Mr. Samson Salamat, Dean of the Diocese of Raiwind Rev. Emmanuel Khokhar, Former Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs Mr. Ijaz Alam Augustine, Parshant Singh, Rana Muhammed Israel, Sheikh Muhammed Pervaiz and other prominent social, religious and political leaders.    

Rwadari Tehreek organizes similar get-togethers every year to bridge gap between different religions and faiths to express people’s unity against those spreading hatred, extremist thoughts and killing people in the name of religion. 

Speaking to the participants of Interfaith Iftar Get-together Mr. Samson Salamat, Chairman Rwadari Tehreek said that “Rwadari Tehreek is a bridge between the people of different faiths, religions, ethnicity and cultures and we want people to sit-together to decrease different misconceptions about each other and enhance understanding and the spirit of mutual respect”. 

Mr. Samson Salamat at this occasion on behalf of all the members of Rwadari Tehreek pledged to  to continue struggle for a peaceful Pakistan, free from all kinds of biases and discrimination, extremist and violent mindset and trends.   

Speaking to the Inter-faith event, Comrade Saeeda Diep said that “the Interfaith Iftar underscores the importance of interreligious dialogue and cooperation in building hate-free society and by coming together in a spirit of openness and respect, we all pledge and reaffirm our commitment to promoting understanding, and harmony among people of all faiths for a peaceful Pakistan”.
