Lakeland, Florida: Mayor Bill Mutz of Lakeland, Florida, has officially proclaimed July 2nd as "Khaan Junaid Day," recognizing the 22 years of dedicated human rights services by Pakistani Christian youth leader, Khaan Junaid Saqib, Chairman of the Pakistan International Minority Rights Commission.
This significant proclamation acknowledges Mr. Saqib's extensive contributions to human rights both within and outside Pakistan. Khaan Junaid is notably the first Pakistani citizen to receive such an honor from the United States government.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including candidates for Congress, local administration officials, and representatives from various nations including Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran, Jordan, and Germany.
During the event, Khaan Junaid Saqib extended his gratitude to Mayor Bill Mutz and all attendees. He also voiced a crucial appeal for the American government to ease visa policies for asylum seekers in Christian universities, in addition to students. The participating dignitaries assured Mr. Saqib of their commitment to working towards the implementation of this initiative
