Christian Father of Four Found Murdered After Disappearance in Sialkot: Family Demands Justice. Report by Sardar Mushtaq Gill
Sialkot, Pakistan: A Christian man named Yousaf Masih, father of four daughters and working as a painting labourer, was found dead on September 13, 2025, three days after he was reported missing. The victim, a resident of Mohalla Hunter Purra in the jurisdiction of Police Station Murad Pur, Sialkot, was last seen on September 10.
The disturbing discovery was made when his body was recovered from a garbage dumping site. According to initial reports, the victim appeared to have been tortured and killed elsewhere, with chemicals used to disfigure his face, making identification extremely difficult. The brutality of the murder has shocked the local community and raised concerns about the treatment of religious minorities in the region.
An FIR (No. 1447/25) was initially registered under kidnapping charges on September 12, 2025, following a complaint by the victim’s brother. Murder charges were later added on September 19, after the recovery of the body and preliminary investigation findings.
Local Christian leaders have voiced serious concerns over the handling of the case by law enforcement authorities. Pastor Imran Amanat, leader of LEAD Ministries, strongly urged authorities to take the case seriously and conduct a thorough investigation. "Justice must be delivered to the family," Pastor Amanat said. "The daughters of the deceased are crying out for justice, but the police seem to be neglecting their cries."
Sardar Mushtaq Gill, Founder of LEAD Ministries and a human rights advocate, appealed to the international community for prayer and support. "A father has been snatched away, leaving four daughters to face the harsh realities of the world alone. We urge the world to stand in solidarity with this grieving family," he stated.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding the safety and rights of religious minorities in Pakistan. Activists are calling for an impartial and transparent investigation to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the family continues to wait for answers.
