Police tortures Christian family on accusation of their son to marry a Muslim girl

Narrowal, Pakistan: October 10, 2008. (PCP report) A Christian family was living in harmony with Muslim neighbors in vicinity of Nido Kay, district Narrowal, in Punjab province of Pakistan from decades but relationship went sour when young daughter of Noor Hussain, a Muslim resident was found missing from home in second week of September 2008. Mohammad Noor Hussain accused family of Zaffar Nasim Bhatti because his girl was visiting their home. Zaffar Bhatti, traveled to his relatives all over Punjab along with Muslim elders to assure that their girl is not hiding with his brother Qamar Nasim Bhatti. On September 24, 2008, Mohammad Noor filed application with Nido Kay Police Station about missing of his girl. Police picked Zaffar Bhatti on September 25, 2008, and registered case against him, Sheilla Nasim his mother, Farzana Bhatti his sister and three other unknown persons. Till update of this incident, Nido Kay Police is torturing Zaffar Bhatti and harassing his family to lead to produce Muslim girl. All other family members and relatives of this Christian family are gone in hiding because Police is raiding and picking every male member related to Zaffar Bhatti. Mohammad Noor Hussain along with armed Muslim gangs approaches to family of Zaffar Bhatti in nights and threatens to kill them if his daughter is not recovered. The Muslims are holding Jirgas, a meeting of Muslim elders, to present Qamar Nasim Bhatti before Jirga to face punishment to marry a Muslim girl unless they shall burn their homes. Qamar Bhatti is accused by Muslims to convert and marry daughter of Noor Hussian and named as main accused in FIR with police. No one is sure of situation until Muslim girl is recovered but dozens of Christian families are hiding due to safety of life and police is torturing Zaffar Bhatti because he is elder brother of Qamar Bhatti.
