Lahore: November 21, 2008. (PCP) A Christian teacher at FC College Lahore was shot dead by unidentified men at his residence creating fear and panic among more than million Christians living in Lahore, capital of Punjab province. The deceased was Professor of English in Forman Christian College FC and living within boundary of this academic institute established before partition of India and formation of Pakistan in 1947, by Protestant Missionaries. Professor Khurshid Alam Gill was 55 and living at Bungalow number 10 in FC College colony with his son and wife. He asked his wife to prepare tea for some guests and waited for guest only known to him. The two motorcyclists passed college security gates and reached to Professor Gill’s residence where they shot him on face after spending ten minutes with him. According to PCP sources, the security personal revealed that gusts of Professor Alam were Muslims by their identification and informed by Professor to permit them for meeting him. The FC College was nationalized by PPP government of late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1973 but de-nationalized and handed over to one organization in Western country, which was responsible for administration of this institution. The clergy and some academics were involved in selling property of college to Muslim business tycoons for commercial purposes but many staff and administration personal opposed such land grabbing. It is doubted that in incident of killing of Professor Khurshid Alam Gill those Muslim may be involved who were interested in land of FC college because he was sitting on chair of Mass Communication Department of college also. The Gulberg Police also rushed to FC College and questioned wife of Professor Gill who have seen killers when she came to serve tea in drawing room. Such killings of Christians are never arrested because influential Muslim politicians are linked to crime against Christians.
