(PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC vowed to file memorandum with Secretary General of United Nation New York offices on January 12, 2008, to grant Pakistani Christians a refugee status after polls on PCP when more them sixty two thousand voted to file this petition.
“I condemn Pakistani establishment to use its machinery to vote against issue and raised negative votes up to sixty nine thousands within two nights which have been recorded by our web commands” said Nazir Bhatti
Dr. Bhatti added “I congratulate thousands of Christians who voted in favor of PCP polls which are ever biggest vote on any website around world on any polling”
Christians are being persecuted and under constitutional genocide and reserve right of refugee status under UNO charter.
The government of Pakistan failed to oblige equal basic democratic rights to Christians and ensure justice to minorities.
Thousands of Christians have fled from Swat valley after taking over by Taliban and more are fleeing Peshawar and Nowshera districts of NWFP on threats to convert to Islam.
Nazir Bhatti said that in such mass movement of Christians on life threats by Taliban and failure of government to protection, the Christians deserve refugee status.
