Would he allow his sister to marry a Christian boy?.. By Charles

Dear Mary I can understand your position at this stage in regards to your daughter's relationship. This is not new. Many Christian's girls have been led to believe that they will have all freedom after marriage, even they can practice their own religion. Unfortunately this does not happen all the time, infact I know a few who even lost their original names they were given by their parents and are not allowed to practice their religion. It is very difficult to make these girls understand this. The standard reply is He is different and very open. After marriage all this disappears. As humans we may be biased in our opinions but the word of God cannot be biased. And when God says something, it has meaning, warning and admonition and it is to Our benefit that we follow that admonition. It is found the Book of 2 Corinthians 6:14. Please read this to your daughter or ask her to read it as well. It is the rule or tradition that when a non-Muslim marries a Muslim, he or she must accept Islam. This means one has to deny Christ as their personal saviour. Jesus in this regards has made it very clear in Matthews 10:32, 33. If you can get a film entitled "Not without my daughter" please get it and watch it together with your daughter. Also pray that God will lead your daughter to make the right decision. You need to be strong and talk this over with your daughter. Your daughter might like to ask her friend, if he would allow his sister to marry a Christian boy or will he allow their children to marry anyone they liked or even give them Christian names? I have heard of Muslim boys becoming Christians to get married, but after marriage they go back. This is not to say that everyone is a cheat, but to highlight the points and dangers that you need to discuss, before the decision is made. Only you and your daughter are in direct contact with the person, only you can make the decision. I have just pointed out some problems that have been faced by many other girls who entered this type of relationship. This is not to say that the gentleman your daughter is involved with is bad or is a cheat. He Most probably is a fine gentleman, but the question is how far will your daughter be allowed to exercise her freedom of religion. I hope and pray that all goes well. Sincerely Charles
