Dear Editor, It refers to reports that petition by many Pakistani Hindus is pending with Indian Prime Minister requesting to grant them visa for immersion of ashes of their family-members in the holy Ganges presently kept for decades at Karachi (Pakistan). Indian government should respect religious sentiments of Hindus settled across the border on humanitarian grounds by granting them special permission to visit Haridwar even though there may be no Indian sponsors available to such Pakistani Hindus. Organisations like Rotary International can own responsibility for co-ordinating formalities in Indian and Pakistan. Rather Union Ministry for Tourism and Culture in India should arrange special pilgrimage trips for Pakistani Hindus on regular basis. These trips can be in various economic variants according to affordability of desiring Hindu pilgrims from Pakistan. Such trips can specially include Haridwar so that immersing of ashes may not have to be waited so long by Pakistani Hindus.
