Dear Sir, As we journey through this season of Lent, we are all called in a very special way to respond to Christ's call of being "Living witnesses" and profess our faith in a more meaningfully & faithfully. Our deeds must lead people to God and our words must be words of truth, sincerity & justice. As living witnesses of Jesus Christ, we have to fill in abundance into us God's gifts of love, mercy, compassion, truth and lead other people to God through our active involvement and participation through various social & pastoral associations & movements. As we work ourselves to be living witnesses of Jesus Christ, let us first and foremost clean ourselves from all the clean ourselves from all the negative things that blocks us in reaching out to people. Let us bring back the lost and those who have shattered away from God and empower them to stand to be Living Witnesses of Christ in the society. This Lent let us endeavor to: Give up complaining.....focus on gratitude. Give up pessimism...become an optimist. Give up harsh judgments...think kindly thoughts. Give up worry......trust Divine Providence. Give up discouragement.....be full of hope. Give up bitterness......turn to forgiveness. Give up hatred.....return good for evil. Give up negativism.....be a positive. Give up anger......be more patient. Give up pettiness.....become more mature. Give up gloom.....enjoy the beauty that is all around you. Give up jealousy....pray for trust. Give up gossiping.....control your tongue. Give up sin.....turn to virtue. Give up giving up....hang in there !!!!! Let us all work to make this season of Lent - the season of love & reconciliation a meaningful season by being Living witnesses of Jesus Christ in the church and society.
