NGO 'Voters Network-Pakistan'

By : David E Bhatti (Scotland)

Dear Mr Bhatti Many thanks for introducing the NGO 'Voters Network-Pakistan.' This is yet another sign that Pakistan is on its way to progressively becoming a democratic country. Recently, there have been quite a few high quality articles written on this subject in Pakistani press, both in Urdu and English. As regards Voters Network-Pakistan, they do seem to have identified a gap in the Pakistani media and political needs. I do agree that a lot work needs to be done to power-up the existing institutions and also to create many new ones to enable democracy to work properly. This is what I understand a CIVIL SOCIETY means. It is going to be a long process. Is this not what evolution is all about? Working together is the way forward in this interdependent world. It is commendable that you and your organisation is into it in a big way. Yours sincerely David E Bhatti (Scotland)
