who was shot dead along with his wife Kathleen in Islamabad on Wednesday. Bishop Arif Khan, a US citizen from Pakistani origin and married to Kathleen, an American woman was enjoying family with children when couple decided to serve Jesus by a Radio Ministry to spread word of Lord in Islamic Republic of Pakistan, some nineteen years ago. Bishop Arif Khan rented home in superb of Islamabad and commissioned his Radio Ministry from that house Church. His wife Kathleen was also visiting Islamabad and helping her husband in his evangelical services. On August 29, 2007, Bishop Arif Khan and Kathleen were gunned down in their own home Church in Islamabad. As it was murder of two US citizens, Islamabad Police moved very fast and arrested Fouzia and her husband Honey, both Christians, in murder of Bishop Arif Khan. According to Islamabad Police, Honey claimed responsibility of shooting because Bishop assaulted and raped his wife Fouzia in absence of his wife. On such statement of Honey Haveed, the Islamabad police termed it as "Honor Killing" and same was telecasted by one private Pakistani TV Channel "Geo TV" The national and international media quoted Geo TV and covered story of brutal murder of Bishop Arif Khan and his wife Kathleen as Honor killing. According to Pakistan Christian Post research team "Honor Killing" is very wide spread cultural curse in Pakistani society where any family member of woman kills woman and man on illicit relationship. Mostly husbands kill their wife and her lovers or brother kills his sister and her lover to honor his family respect. In killing of Bishop Arif Khan and his wife, the theory of honor killing does not fit, as Honey Haveed not killed his wife. If he claims that Bishop Arif Khan raped his wife fouzia, then why Honey or Fouzia not reported rape to police? Why Katheen was shot dead, if it was honor killing? Honey Haveed and Fouzia, both Christians residents of Wanna, Waziristan, a tribal region bordering Afghanistan, makes brutal murder of Bishop Khan and his wife more mysterious. The Pakistani Community settled in USA, looks murder of Bishop Khan as continuous potential threat to life and property of poor Christians in Pakistan where distribution of threatening letters to Christians and clergy by extremist Muslims groups " Convert to Islam or die" are in notice.
