A Christian teacher loses job on allegation of tearing an Islamic Book.

Sialkot: June 8, 2008. (Jawad Mazhar reports) June 8th: Imran Masih and his spouse, Christian school teachers of a private school located at Paris Road of the Industrial city of Sialkot in the Punjab Province, has been fired from their teaching jobs

for allegedly tearing an Islamic Book, on June 7th, 2008, ROD learnt through a national daily 'Express'. According to the daily Express on June 7th, Imran Masih was teaching in his class and he caught one of his students reading a religious book (Mout ka Manzar), which contained Quraanic Verses and Sayings of Prophet Muhammad about the 'Life after the Death'. The daily stated further that Imran Masih got infuriated when he saw one of his students reading somethings other than the text book. Imran Masih lost his temprament and allegedly ripped apart the book and threw in the dust bin of the class room. This incident hurt the feelings of the muslim students and they led by a student Shujaa Husain started shouting slogans , against the Christian teacher Imran Masih and his wife. They were demanding death for the alleged humiliator of the Holy Quraan. Hard line Islamic groups Jamaat Islami, Jamaat Ehlehadith and many other Islamic groups are backing up the students, daily stated. The Islamic groups have called for a protest on Monday 9th, 2008 and encircle the school, Express daily added. Initially Principal of the school Mrs Attia have fired both Mr and Mrs Imran Masih from her school on account of allegedly tearing an Islamic Book. The principal has announced vocations in the school to avert the situation getting worse, daily Express said on June 8th. Mr and Mrs Imran Masih have gone into hiding to save their lives.
