Philadelphia: December 7, 2008. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC appealed to Secretary General of United Nations to award refugee status to Pakistani Christians who are victim of constitutional and Muslim extremi

“Pakistan is no more a safe home for millions of Christians who have been deprived of their basic equal democratic rights and victimized by Muslim extremist elements under administration cover up” said Nazir S Bhatti Pakistani Christians have been attacked, women raped and enforced conversion is worst type of genocide and violation of Human Rights. Pakistan is signatory of Universal Declaration of UN Human Rights but Islamic Republic of Pakistan constitution never provides such guarantees, which have caused social and economic crisis for Christian’s who are son of soil. Pakistan is signatory to “Liaquat-Nehro” Pact with India to protect minority rights and to form Minority Commission headed by supreme court justice to decide on their election system and protection of personal laws but such commission is never constituted for Christian leaders presentations and recommendation. Christians in Pakistan have repeatedly rejected formation of Minority Commission under chairmanship of President, Prime Minister and Federal Minister, which negates true spirit of Liaquat-Nehro Pact of 1950, between Pakistan and India. The Pakistan administration has imposed Joint Election System on Christians and Muslim groups are selecting their representation in provincial assemblies and national assembly of Pakistan. The Christian’s selection in parliament under Joint election system have paved way for Muslim political groups to select puppet leadership to speak their master’s voice instead of oppressed Christian nation. The attackers on Churches and killers of worshipers are never arrested and brought to justice in Pakistan due to which millions of Christians have lost their confidence in government and Muslim majority. Nazir S Bhatti announced here today that he will present a memorandum to UNO offices in New York in January 2009, with proofs of Christian persecution, victimization and genocide and it shall be also filed with Human Right Commission of UNO in Geneva in February-March 2009, in person.
