Karachi: April 24, 2009. (PCP) Sindh government confirms death of a Christian named Irfan Masih who was rushed to hospital after attack of Taliban

on a Christian colony named Taseer Town in Surjani Town Police Station on April 22, 2009. Imran Masih and Qadoos Masih are still in serious condition in hospital and fighting for life who also received bullet injuries when Taliban were burning houses, shops and Churches in Taseer town. The dozens were women and elders were also injured who are being released from hospital. The organized attack of Taliban followed by wall chalking graffiti on Church walls against Christianity and invitation to accept Islam. Irfan Masih is only 11 years old but Taliban not spared him and shot him execution style who is very serious in hospital. Meanwhile on points of order of two minority legislators, Soomro said that the government had ordered strict security at churches following the Taseer Town incident. He said unknown people printed graffiti on the wall of a church in Sector 36-A, Surjani town, which created tension between “Christians and Pakhtoons.” Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP)selected Christian MPA Khursheed Khokhar, on a point of order, said that the land mafia, the SHO and police post in charge were involved in the violence for some vested interests. Stephen Asif Peter selected by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said that several Pakhtoons, led by the SHO and the police, resorted to firing, torched 12 to 13 houses and “insulted” girls. He demanded the termination of the SHO’s services and a judicial inquiry into the incidents. After Taseer Town attack by Taliban, government of Sindh have banned all sort of public gatherings and processions in Karachi when angry Christians were planning protest procession.
