Islamabad: May 26, 2009. (PCP report) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, Chief of Pakistan Congress PCC urged Christians to observe “Black Day” instead of Minority Minister’s “Thanksgiving Day” on May 31, 2009,

because “Thanksgiving” is only for Lord Jesus Christ in Christianity not to any worldly power or government. It is ’Thanksgiving Day” for Shahbaz Bhatti, who was selected Member of National Assembly without single vote of Christians and his Lords in PPP imposed him as Federal Minister for Minorities but for Christians May 31, 2009, is a “Black Day” when their due rights proportional to their 13% population in Pakistan are being snatched by 5% Quota in jobs announcement which is still awaiting Notification by relevant authorities for implementation. “Christians reject 5% quota which is shared by Hindus, Sikhs, Bihai and Ahmedi when Founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah awarded 5% Quota to Christians only in 1947” said Nazir Bhatti Dr. Bhatti added “Christians are 13% of population of Pakistan and we have always demanded proportional to our population Quota of seats in Senate of Pakistan, National Assembly of Pakistan and Provincial Assemblies while same in allocation of jobs, admission in professional colleges and higher studies institution” “Shahbaz Bhatti stabbed in back of Christian nation in Pakistan by demands of Joint Electorate on intimation of Pakistan Peoples Party PPP and received reward of nomination as MNA and Minister ship when majority of Christians were happy and enjoying Separate Electorate and electing their representation by their votes” said Nazir Bhatti The Separate Electorate was abolished by General Parvez Mushruuf who imposed Joint Electorate which empowers Muslim political groups to select Christians and other minorities on reserved seats in NA and Provincial Assemblies on their choice. Shahbaz Bhatti who was leader of Christian Liberation Front CLF launched campaign against Separate Electorate to fulfill PPP agenda to grab Christian vote bank on assurance of selection in NA and award of federal ministry. Pakistan Peoples Party PPP co-Chairperson martyred Benazir Bhutto announced Dual Voting rights for minorities as premier of Pakistan and again promised with delegation of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC led by Nazir Bhatti in a meeting in Bilawal House at Karachi that PPP will support Dual Vote for Christians. The Dual Voting right is election system by which Christian can vote Muslim political groups in respective constituencies and elect their representatives by their own votes on reserved seats but Shahbaz Bhatti bargained to become MNA with Asif Ali Zardari the present President of Pakistan then co-Chairperson of PPP after martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto. Nazir Bhatti said “Now Shahbaz Bhatti have damaged true spirit of Quota for Christians accepting 5% Quota in jobs and ignored Quota in academic institutions for Christian Youth” “ Shahbaz Bhatti can enjoy and celebrate Thanksgiving Day but we can not forget our Youth and thousands of displaced Christian families from Swat Valley, Dir and Boneir who are facing hardships of registration in camps and hundreds are stuck in war areas due to lack of resources to fled” Nazir S Bhatti reaffirmed that Christians in Pakistan are 13% of total population and we want share in power and resources of state proportional to our population. He appealed to Christians in Pakistan to observe “Black Day” on May 31, 2009, to reject less than 2% quota in this 5% quota bargained by Shahbaz Bhatti. Nazir S Bhatti in telephonic conversation with PCC heads of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Christian colonies urged to present true picture of 5% Quota to general Christians which is not in interests of Christian nation.
