PCA condemn attack on Kasur Christians

New York: July 12, 2009. (PCP) Leaders of Pakistani Christian Association in North America PCA met here on July 11, 2009, to condemn attack on Christians and to finalize arrangements to stage protest in front of UN Offices New York against

burning of 110 homes of Christians by Muslim mob on June 30, 2009, in village Bahman Wala in district Kasur, Punjab. The PCA leaders passed a resolution to condemn barbaric attack of Muslims mob and stressed upon government of Pakistan to arrest culprit to ensure justice. The issue of safety and security of life and property of Pakistani Christian was discussed and it was decided to send memorandum to government of Pakistan to adopt adequate measure for security of Christians. Chairman PCA William Shahzad urged international community to raise voice on persecution of Pakistani Christians on raising incidents of arrests under blasphemy laws and attack on Christians by radical Muslim elements. In a message to the meeting participants, Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistani Christians Association in North America PCA reaffirmed to continue policy of support to persecuted Churches around globe by PCA and expressed grave concern on Bahman Wala incident. Mr. Jaleel Jalal, Arif Masih, Raza Victor, James Gill and other prominent PCA leaders participated in meeting. The final date of PCA protest in front of UNO shall be announced on Tuesday after clearance by NY city officials.
