Islamabad: September 22, 2009. (PCP report) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, Chief of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC urged President of Pakistan Mr. Asif Ali Zardari to repeal blasphemy law

by an executive order before his address to UN General Assembly in New York as good will gesture to assure International Community that Pakistan is sincere in curbing terrorism in Pakistan which is spreading in region and flourishing under Article 2, of constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and blasphemy law. After induction of blasphemy law in Pakistan Penal Code PPC in 1986, the Islamic extremism entered in Pakistani society and terrorist organizations came in existence under protection of Hadood Ordinance. Nazir Bhatti said “ Pakistan will remain breeding ground for terrorism until constitutional amendment and blasphemy law is not repealed” “The Pakistan army is fighting against terrorists in Pakistan but it is not long term solution to end terrorism in Pakistan because terrorist get relief from courts under existing legislation” added Nazir Bhatti The religious outfits and terrorists organizations on watch list of UNO and USA around globe are less in number than only in Pakistan. The banned organization leaders in Pakistan are never arrested nor punished under law instead get bails from courts and form a new organization with new name with same objective to evangelize religious extremism and hate toward other religions. The blasphemy law is being used against Christians in Pakistan since 1990, and hundreds of Christian have been victimized, attacked and killed. In recent wave of violence against Christians in Pakistan, Islamic militants have burnt down homes, desecrated Churches and burnt alive Christians. Nazir S Bhatti appealed to USA and EU to condition aid to Pakistan with constitutional amendments and repeal of blasphemy law in war against terrorism because Pakistan have failed to end terrorism in its boundaries but exporting it to Afghanistan, India and Western world. The Pakistan is hiding place of international terrorists and outfit banned organization leaders host them and facilitate them. “World is not safe until Pakistan acts against state actors who are working on agenda to terrorize humanity and moving freely in Pakistan” said Nazir Bhatti I appeal to leaders of other states participating in UN general assembly session to talk to President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari during his stay in New York to adopt necessary measure to provide safety and security to religious minorities in Pakistan and to repeal blasphemy law and further constitutional amendments to end terrorism said Nazir Bhatti Talking to Pakistan Christian Congress PCC leaders of Islamabad and Rawalpindi region via telephone conference, PCC Chief Nazir S Bhatti said “If Pakistan government not repeals blasphemy law till September 25, 2009, get ready to launch massive movement to press for demand” Nazir S Bhatti said that PCC will announce future course of movement against government on September 28, 2009, if President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari not repeals blasphemy law.
