Ottawa: February 4, 2013. (PCP) Stephen Gill, an Indo/Canadian poet and writer, has been invited by three conferences of three universities in three provinces of India, and will also be speaking at some additional colleges.

These three Universities are in the provinces of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The fourth host organization, Festival of Literature of SAARC countries, is in UP. The SAARC, The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, was formed in 1985 to foster cultural, economic, social and technical ties among member states, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhuttan, Maldives. Stephen Gill has been invited to give talks, present his poetry and read chapters from his latest novel The Coexistence. He will also read cantos from Amputee, an epical poem about a sexually abused child. This long poem springs from the poet’s deep conviction that peace needs to be discussed from the perspective of education, and a formal education ought to be initiated from the day a couple decides to raise a family. During his literary tour, Prakash Books will release his book For a Peaceful Future, and three publishers from Delhi will release books of scholarly studies on his works. One scholarly study has been edited by Professor Dr. ID Tiwari, another by Professor Dr. Manoj Kumar, and the third by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Chandra.
