Quetta. December 15, 2002. After imposition of Islamic Laws in Balochistan province by the MMA, Muslim Religious Parties Alliance, and ML-Q, Government backed Muslim League collation government. A bomb blasted near the Catholic Church boundary walls

Its is amazing that Prime Minister of Pakistan Mir Zafar Jamali is also tribal chief of Balouchistan tribe of Baluchi speaking Muslims and Kohlu also falls in the Balouchi speaking tribal areas of the province. The other ethnic group in the province is Pashto speaking, the language spoken in Afghanistan and The MMA have bagged the majority seats in Pashto speaking areas of Balouchistan. The MMA was not in position to form government in the Province but the Parvez Mushraf backed ML-Q went in collation to reach the CM slot and to enter in collation with MMA to promise the implementation of Islamic Laws in the province and share in power. The MMA had the absolute majority in the NWFP to form government and impose Islamic laws according to their election manifesto, the second long bordered province with Afghanistan. The government of Jamali and Mushraf helped the MMA to impose Islamic laws in the Balochistan too. The Christians in NWFP and Balouchistan were under constant fear of life and property during the MMA campaigns against allied forces action in Afghanistan to curb terrorism when attacks were made on Christians by the MMA protestors. The bomb blast in Kohlu church is clear indication of hate toward Christian community in the border provinces and show of strength of militant's presence in Balouchistan.
