Bishop Ernest Jacob of the Anglican Orthodox Church of Pakistan received the degree on behalf of Mr. Nazir S. Bhatti from the former Federal Minister of Minority Affairs Colonel (Retired) S. K. Tressler, who was the Chief Guest for today's ceremony. Earlier Rt. Rev. Dr. Major (retired) Timotheus Nasir told the huge gathering that Mr. Nazir S. Bhatti is being awarded this degree for our standing Christian services rendered by Mr. Bhatti for Pakistani Christians in the United States, Pakistan and around the world. He said in his address that the Siloam Biblical Christian Church of Pakistan (formally known as the United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan) and the Anglican Orthodox Church of Pakistan has been "monitoring" the services of Mr. Nasir S. Bhatti and the two church bodies recommended to the Board of Directors of the Faith Theological Seminary to award the Doctor of Divinity degree to Mr. Bhatti in its annual graduation ceremony that is held on the second Friday of March each year. Rev. Parker T. Williamson and Dr. Peter Gammons were the other two recipients of DD degree with Dr. Nazir S. Bhatti.
